Tuning Requirement

Tuning is required after installing cam phaser lockouts. The MyCalibrator Tuner is included in this kit.

  • Connect to the OBD-II port with the engine off
  • Turn the key to run position (do not start the engine)
  • Follow the on-screen prompts — tune loads immediately
  • Install the tune before starting the vehicle for the first time after the repair

The tuner must remain with the vehicle at all times. The factory tune must be reinstalled before any dealer service visit. Factory PCM updates performed by a dealer while the Livernois tune is active may prevent the tune from reloading if the vehicle has not been returned to stock first.

Fix Ford 4.6L / 5.4L 3V Cam Phaser Noise — Plug-and-Play Kit with Tuner

Ford 4.6L and 5.4L 3-valve engines commonly develop a knocking noise from the front timing chain area over time. This is caused by the cam phaser moving back and forth uncontrollably. How to Tell Which Phasers You Have
